Welcome
I am the co-director of The Center for Family Solutions, a counseling agency in Walnut Creek, California that provides psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families. With over 30 years of training and experience, I have helped hundreds of people resolve their conflicts and emotional pain. Clients have said that I am warm, compassionate and non-judgmental. I believe that the foundation of successful therapy is trust, safety and confidentiality.
Before becoming a licensed therapist, I was a stockbroker, retail store manager and filmmaker/photographer. Since 1991 I have been an adjunct professor of graduate psychology at John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, California. I teach graduate students the latest research-based theory and techniques of psychotherapy that incorporate cognitive, behavioral and psychodynamic therapies.
Studies show that what is therapeutically effective isn't necessarily the model of treatment, but rather the relationship between client and therapist. Because of this, I make two commitments: you will be in an environment of unquestioned safety and confidentiality. And, second, I will focus on your needs, using techniques that best suit your personality, to develop a positive plan for growth and resolution. Together, we will identify and work on issuesconscious and unconsciousthat trouble you or hold you back.
